Hwang Dong-hyuk is the creator, writer, and director of the South Korean dystopian survival thriller horror television series Squid Game (Korean: μ€μ§μ΄ κ²μ), which is available on Netflix.
The title of the series is derived from the Korean children’s game ojingeo (“squid”). The ensemble cast is led by Lee Jung-jae, who plays Seong Gi-hun, the main character in the series.
The show centres on a covert competition in which 456 participantsβall of them are severely impoverishedβrisk their lives to compete in a series of lethal kid’s games in an attempt to earn β©45.6 billion (US$39.86 million).
On September 17, 2021, the first season of Squid Game was broadcast globally to widespread praise and interest.

The second season was released on December 26, 2024, after production started in July 2023. The third and final season, which was recorded concurrently with the second season, will premiere on June 27, 2025.

Pantheon
Craig Silverstein is the creator of the American adult animated science fiction drama television series Pantheon. Ken Liu’s short stories served as the inspiration for the series.
On September 1, 2022, the first season debuted on AMC+. The first season was taken from AMC+ and HIDIVE in January 2023, then on October 15, 2023, it was re-issued on Amazon Prime Video. The second season was launched in Australia and New Zealand on the same day.
For the previous two months, Netflix subscribers have had the opportunity to binge-watch the two seasons.
It focusses on Madison Kim (Katie Chang), who receives communications from a person claiming to be her deceased father. Character voices in the series have been provided by actors such Rosemarie DeWitt, Aaron Eckhart, Paul Dano, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Katie Chang.

Black Mirror
Charlie Brooker is the creator of the British anthology television series Black Mirror. The majority of the show’s episodes are set in near-future dystopias with sci-fi technology, which is a subgenre of speculative fiction. The Twilight Zone served as inspiration for the show, which makes social commentary on current events through media and technology themes.
Brooker writes the majority of the episodes, with executive producer Annabel Jones helping out. Together with the interactive movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018), there are 33 episodes spread across seven series and one special.
The British network Channel 4 broadcast the first two series in 2011 and 2013, as well as the “White Christmas” special in 2014. After thereafter, the show shifted to Netflix, where four more seasons were released in 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2023.
On April 10, 2025, a seventh series was made available. Netflix produced two related webisode series, and in 2018, Inside Black Mirror, a book that accompanied the first four episodes, was released. Numerous episodes’ soundtracks have been made available as albums.

Castlevania
Warren Ellis is the author and creator of the American adult animated dark fantasy action television series Castlevania, which is produced by Adi Shankar of Shankar Animation and Kevin Kolde and Fred Seibert of Frederator Studios for Netflix.
The first two seasons of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, a 1989 video game adaptation based on the same name Konami video game series, follow Trevor Belmont, Alucard, and Sypha Belnades as they protect Wallachia from Dracula and his henchmen.
Alucard’s narrative is taken from the 1997 entry Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and starting in the second season, characters and elements from the 2005 entry Castlevania: Curse of Darkness are included. The artwork of Ayami Kojima and Japanese animation have a strong effect on the style.
Producer Kevin Kolde and his business, Project 51, had initially conceived Castlevania as a movie. On July 7, 2017, the series made its Netflix debut. That same day, it was renewed for an additional eight-episode season, which debuted on October 26, 2018.
Netflix approved a ten-episode third season, which debuted on March 5, 2020. On May 13, 2021, the fourth season of the show was released, marking its conclusion.

Shadow and Bone
Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, and Kit Young play minor parts in the 2021 American fantasy television series Shadow and Bone, which was created by Eric Heisserer for Netflix and stars Jessie Mei Li, Ben Barnes, and Archie Renaux.
The Grishaverse fantasy series, which is based on Leigh Bardugo’s writings, centres on Alina Starkov (Li), a cartographer and orphan who learns she is a Grisha, a person with magical powers, and the key to rescuing her war-torn country.
The first season debuted on April 23, 2021, and is based on Bardugo’s 2012 novel Shadow and Bone. It also includes an original plotline about the Crows, a criminal gang from Bardugo’s Six of Crows duology.
The series, which adapts Siege and Storm (2013), Ruin and Rising (2014), and portions of Crooked Kingdom (2016), was renewed by Netflix for a second season after its success. The second season debuted on March 16, 2023. In November 2023, Shadow and Bone was cancelled after two seasons, despite increasing fan support.

Bridgerton
Chris Van Dusen created the American alternative history regency romance television series Bridgerton on Netflix. It is Shondaland’s first Netflix scripted series, and it is based on the Julia Quinn novel series.
As young, marriageable nobles and gentry are presented to society, it follows the close-knit siblings of the powerful and noble Bridgerton family as they negotiate the fiercely competitive social season.
The show takes place in an alternate London Regency period in the early 19th century, when George III instituted racial equality and bestowed noble titles upon numerous individuals of African descent because of his wife Queen Charlotte’s African ancestry.
December 25, 2020, marked the premiere of the first season. In January 2021, the show received a second season renewal; in April 2021, it received renewals for a third and fourth season. March 25, 2022, marked the beginning of the second season.
On May 16 and June 13, 2024, respectively, the two portions of the third season were released. In 2026, the fourth season will air. On May 4, 2023, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a spin-off series about Queen Charlotte, was made available.
With two Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, a Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Award, and nominations for the Primetime Emmy Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Satellite Awards, and NAACP Image Awards, Bridgerton received positive reviews for its direction, actors’ performances, production, and set design.

Based on the book You, the first season debuted on Lifetime in September 2018 and centres on serial killer and bookshop manager Joe Goldberg, who falls in love and becomes severely obsessed.
Shay Mitchell, Zach Cherry, Luca Padovan, Elizabeth Lail, and Penn Badgley are the season’s main cast members. In July 2018, Lifetime revealed that You, which was based on Kepnes’ sequel, Hidden Bodies, had been renewed for a second season.
The second season of the show debuted in December 2019 after it was transferred to Netflix. The season centres on Joe’s journey to Los Angeles and his romance with Love Quinn, a local heiress. Ambyr Childers joined freshly cast Victoria Pedretti, James Scully, Jenna Ortega, and Carmela Zumbado as a series regular for the second season.
Netflix renewed the show for a third season in January 2020, and it debuted on October 15, 2021. Saffron Burrows joined newly cast Travis Van Winkle, Shalita Grant, Tati Gabrielle, and Dylan Arnold in the third season after being promoted to series regular.
The show was renewed for a fourth season in October 2021, just before the third-season debut. The fourth season was shown in two installments on February 9 and March 9, 2023. Charlotte Ritchie, Tilly Keeper, Amy-Leigh Hickman, Ed Speleers, and Lukas Gauge are all featured in the season.
The fifth and final season of the show was renewed in March 2023 and will premiere on April 24, 2025.

Adolescence
Philip Barantini is the director of the British television psychological crime drama series Adolescence, which was developed by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham. It revolves on Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper), a 13-year-old student who is detained following the murder of a girl at his school. All four of its episodes were filmed in a one continuous take.
With particular emphasis to its atmosphere and performers, the miniseries received critical acclaim for its writing, direction, and photography when it debuted on Netflix on March 13, 2025. The first streaming program to top Barb Audiences’ weekly television ratings was Adolescence.
Deadline revealed on April 9, 2025, that discussions on a second season of the show were underway between Netflix and Plan B Entertainment.
